01 / Why this matters

Good strategy doesn’t become reality on its own.

Organizations are full of smart people, good intentions, and ambitious plans. The challenge is making sure those things actually connect—across leadership, teams, managers, and the people doing the work every day.

02 / Our belief

For growth to happen, people have to be part of building it.

We believe organizations work better when strategy, culture, communication, and the people doing the work are connected.

Kern Table brings together change management, communications, qualitative research, and design thinking to help organizations understand what’s really happening and build solutions people can actually use.

03 / Our team

Two perspectives.
One shared table.

Carol Meyer

Carol Meyer, MBA

I believe lasting change happens when people understand the rationale and their role in it. My first lesson in change management came in a Guatemalan cloud forest, where families cleared forest to plant corn to feed themselves. As a Peace Corps volunteer, I worked alongside Mayan Q’eqchi families to build a community-based ecotourism business from the ground up. Years later, it’s still running—supporting those families and a habitat for howler monkeys, giant tree ferns, wild orchids, and Guatemala’s national bird.

This belief has anchored my three-decade career turning big ideas into changes people can get behind. I have led communications teams through leadership turnover, reorganizations, a global pandemic, and the unraveling of foreign aid, while helping raise hundreds of millions of dollars for missions that matter. I’ve reinvented teams, streamlined processes, and brought new technology, including AI, into global organizations and small teams finding their way. In each instance, getting people on board was critical to ownership and adoption.

I’m a certified change manager with an MBA and a systems thinker’s instinct for how one change ripples into the next. Moving easily between big-picture strategy and the details that make it work, I translate complexity into clarity, get things done, and know change happens one person at a time, moving at the speed of trust. I’m fluent in Spanish and have studied five languages in all. Understanding people has always been the point. Clarity is what makes a message land, and it’s what I do best.

A New York transplant based in Atlanta, I’m a Meyer lemon in a world of standard citrus: direct and purposeful, with a natural warmth that makes hard change easier to swallow.

Caroline Driebe

Caroline Driebe, MBA

I believe the best solutions start with understanding people. My career has been shaped by a curiosity about what happens between a leader’s vision and the people who have to make it real: where communication breaks down, where friction gets in the way, and what it takes to bring people with you.

For more than 15 years, I’ve worked across industries and organizational environments, helping leaders navigate change, strengthen communications, and bring people together around shared goals. I’ve led complex communications and operational initiatives spanning 18 departments and nine schools, built integrated strategies for organizations with global audiences, and used design thinking to bring diverse perspectives into decisions that matter.

I’m a design thinking practitioner with a systems thinker’s instinct for how people, processes, and purpose connect. I especially love the qualitative side of the work—asking better questions, listening for patterns, and turning what people say into insights that move an organization forward. I see the whole system without losing sight of the person sitting across the table.

I’m practical, curious, and direct. I cut through the noise, bring the right people into the room, and get things moving. I believe clarity creates connection, and connection makes change possible.

Based in Atlanta, I love living close to “the world’s busiest airport” where I can catch a flight to anywhere in the world. And yes, Driebe sounds like “Dreamy,” just with a B.

04 / How we found our rhythm

Caroline and Carol worked closely together at Emory during COVID, coordinating communications across a complex organization.

They worked seamlessly to combine their expertise, understand different audiences, and make sure each audience had what it needed.

This partnership became the foundation for Kern Table—and a shared belief that lasting change is built with the people who will live it.
